It wouldn’t be June without Pride, and on Saturday, June 27 the village plays host to the fourth annual North Fork Pride parade and festival, which kicks off at with a parade at Noon from Main & Broad streets to Mitchell Park.
The festival, showcasing restaurants and artisans along Main and Front streets downtown, runs through 5 p.m.
This year’s Pride theme is “Unstoppable Pride — Here. Now. Always.”
The LGBT Network, which produces the annual parade, says this year’s theme reflects ‘the continued strength, visibility, and resilience of our local LGBTQ+ communities at a time when LGBTQ+ people continue to be targeted in schools, legislatures, and courts and face renewed threats to healthcare access and safety. North Fork Pride sends a strong, unified message: We will not be silenced, and we will not be erased.”
There are three Grand Marshals for this year’s parade — the advocacy group North Fork Women, a longstanding champion for LGBTQ+ North Forkers, and business owners Linda Kessler of Kessie in downtown Greenport and Stanley Lomangino of Maggio and Mattituck Environmental.
