Alliance to Host Gathering of Musicians
by Eric Tonyes
I’m excited to announce the East End Music Alliance will soon be having our first “official” event. The event will take place on Columbus Day (October 14) at 7 p.m. at The Green Hill Kitchen in Greenport (on the second floor). Refreshments and complimentary coffee will be provided, the restaurant will be closed but the owners have been kind enough to organize a bartender to be there. Admission is free.
This event will allow individuals to network, build friendships, and foster new creative collaborations between local musicians, additionally, the event will serve as a platform for us to discuss what we can do to strengthen our music community and our community as a whole. Members and non-members alike are encouraged to participate.
We’ll hear several of our community’s most admired local artists perform their own original material, followed by a short interview all about themselves and their music. By providing the opportunity for you to get to know your favorite local artists we hope to encourage the community to become more engaged with their local artists.
As an individual born and raised on the East End who has always been passionate about music — and its ability to bring people together — I started EEMA to help connect artists and listeners on the East End as well as to create a music scene that does not compromise the community character of my home.
Please join us for this wonderful evening of music in our community.
