The North Fork Community Theatre in Mattituck has chosen the spicy, seductive musical comedy “Dirty Rotten Scoundrels” for its spring musical production, which opens this Thursday, May 12.
The musical, which premiered on Broadway in 2005 and was warmly received in the West End in 2014, is based on the 1988 film of the same name.
The play follows two charming con men as they compete to be the first to swindle an heiress on the French Riviera out of $50,000.
Performance are set for May 12, 13, 14, *15, 19, 20, 21, *22, 26, 27, 28 and *29. Show times are Thursdays through Saturdays at 8 p.m. and *Sundays at 2:30 p.m. Tickets are $20 and are available online here or by calling the box office at 631.298.6328.
Laura Pearsall will direct this production, with assistant director Jim Pearsall, producer Mary Motto Kalich, and music director Karen Hochstedler.
The cast includes Jack Seabury as Lawrence Jameson, Michael Hipp as Freddy Benson, Kelsey Cheslock as Christine Colgate, Manning Dandridge as Andre Thibault, Marguerite Volonts as Muriel and Nancy DiGirolamo as Jolene.
The ensemble includes Linda Aydinian, Heather Cusack, Thomas Del Prete, Jen Eager, Matt Eager, Justin Harris, Patti Hautsch, Mary Kalich, David Lopez, Jan McGoey, Eric Momente, Ryan Nowak and Lauren Sisson.
An opening reception will be held before the show at 7 p.m. on May 12, with wine tasting by Sparkling Pointe Winery.
Student tickets will be available for $15 at the box office beginning 10 minutes before each performance. These tickets are subject to availability and cannot be reserved ahead of time.
