East End Arts in Riverhead opens its first exhibition of 2026 on Jan. 24 by celebrating the creativity, collaboration, and spirit of its members in the Elizabeth Richard Memorial Members’ Show.
This show brings together artists of all disciplines to exhibit under a shared theme, which this year is “In Motion.”
“Movement is both the inspiration and the metaphor for this year’s show, symbolizing not only artistic energy and transformation but also the transition of East End Arts Council itself — this will be the final show at the gallery’s 133 E. Main Street space before the organization’s temporary relocation during the Riverhead Town Square revitalization project,” according to East End Arts. During that time, other satellite galleries will be hosting East End Arts’ shows.
East End Arts is inviting its members to submit one original piece that captures the essence of movement — whether through energy, rhythm, travel, emotion, or change. From kinetic sculptures to bold brushstrokes and experimental media, they’re hoping the works in “In Motion” “celebrate how art reflects the pulse of life itself.”
The deadline for submissions is Jan. 3, 2026.
A new Mini Members’ Show also gives artists ages 5 to 12 their own special gallery space to interpret the theme of “In Motion.”
“It’s a joyful way to encourage the next generation of artists to share their imagination with the community,” according to Eat End Arts.
The Members’ Show is open exclusively to active East End Arts Council Members (ages 13+) and Mini Members (ages 5–12). Here’s more info about becoming a member.
The exhibition will be on view at East End Arts’ Main Street Galleries at 133 East Main Street and 11 West Main Street from Jan. 24 through March 7, 2026.
An opening reception will be held on Saturday, Jan. 24 from 4 to 7 p.m. and a closing reception and People’s Choice Award ceremony will be held on Saturday, March 7 at 5 p.m.
