HTC Presents Lux Radio’s “Miracle on 34th Street”

Faced with the limitations imposed by the coronavirus pandemic, the Hampton Theatre Company has come up with a plan to film a socially distanced live performance of the “Lux Radio Theater ‘Miracle on 34th Street'” and make the video available to patrons as part of the company’s traditional end-of-year appeal.

Originally aired December 20, 1948, the Lux Radio Theater presentation of “Miracle on 34th Street” featured the three stars of the 20th Century Fox movie, Maureen O’Hara, John Payne, and Edmund Gwenn. The HTC live performance will take patrons into the studio to see the actors “broadcasting” the show, complete with advertisements for the show’s sponsor, Lux laundry flakes.

The cast for the HTC production will be: Andrew Botsford, Rosemary Cline, Rebecca Edana, Terrance Fiore, Amanda Griemsmann,  George Loizides, and Roger Moley. Current plans call for the video of the performance to be available beginning December 19. Check the HTC website for details on the end-of-year appeal and how to access the video. www.hamptontheatre.org
