Good Morning!

• After yesterday’s hot sunshine and soaking rain, today brings in a cold front. Today will be sunny, with a high near 54 degrees and a north wind 15 to 17 miles per hour. We’re expecting patchy frost after 2 a.m. overnight, with a low around 30. Tuesday will be mostly sunny, with a high near 55 and Wednesday will be mostly sunny, with a high near 64.

• All of the East End towns’ preliminary budgets are set, and most are expected to be up for public hearing in the coming weeks, before they are adopted by the state-mandated deadline of Nov. 20. The Beacon’s full story is online here.

• The Southampton Town Board voted 3-2 at a special meeting Thursday afternoon to consider a zone change application for a controversial workforce housing and retail complex proposed for North Phillips Avenue in Speonk. The Beacon’s full story is online here.

• The Sag Harbor Partnership, which has been busy the past several years putting together a series of self-guided walking tours of Sag Harbor that can be accessed through iPhone and Android apps, announced this week that they’ve released a new walking tour, just in time for Halloween, titled “Permanent Residents of Oakland Cemetery.” More information is online here.
