We’re expecting mostly sunny skies today, with a high temperature near 39 degrees but wind chill values between 10 and 20, with an east wind 5 to 9 miles per hour. It will be partly cloudy overnight, with a low around 27. Thursday will be sunny, with a high near 41 and a 20 percent chance of rain after 2 p.m. We’re expecting rain on Friday, mainly after 2 p.m. with cloudy skies and a high near 46.

The Riverhead Town Board holds public hearings on extending the Riverhead Water District to 203-2013 East Main Street, an unsafe structure at 29 East Second Street and amendments to the town code regarding cannabis at its 6 p.m. regular meeting this evening. The Heart of Riverhead Civic Association honors Black History Month with a free screening of “Hidden Colors,” the documentary that explores the true, but largely ignored, history of people of color in the United States on Saturday, Feb. 24 at 11 a.m. at the Riverhead Free Library.
