Good Morning!

• There’s a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms today, mainly before 8 a.m. and after 2 p.m. Otherwise, it will be partly sunny, with a high near 73 degrees and a southwest wind 11 to 14 miles per hour. There’s a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms this evening, mainly before 8 p.m., with partly cloudy skies and a low around 54 overnight. Tuesday will be sunny and breezy, with a high near 69. Wednesday will be sunny, with a high near 66.

• Southampton Town will hold a public hearing on a petition for village incorporation of East Quogue this evening at 6 p.m. at the East Quogue School, 6 Central Avenue in East Quogue.

• The Suffolk County Aquaculture Lease Program (SCALP) is ten years old and is looking for feedback from Shelter Island residents this evening to help inform changes or modifications to the program going forward.  If you’re interested in aquaculture and how you might get involved, come up to the Manor House at Mashomack Preserve this afternoon at 4 p.m. for this presentation.

• The Long Island Commission for Aquifer Protection has unveiled a long-term effort to encourage Long Islanders to conserve the sole source aquifer system that provides 100 percent of Long Island’s drinking water. More details are online here.
