Good Morning!

• We’re expecting mostly cloudy skies today, with a high temperature near 57 degrees and a north wind 8 to 10 miles per hour. We’re expecting showers overnight, with a low around 47, and then showers into Wednesday, mainly before 2 p.m., with a near 59. Thursday will be mostly sunny, with a high near 64.

• The first unrestricted boat ramp access to the Peconic Estuary was officially dedicated on Arbor Day, April 29, with a ceremony hosted by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation celebrating the former owners of the property, who were instrumental in helping it become a public access. • The East Hampton Town Board will hear updates on a Family Service League telehealth initiative for mental health and substance use, an update on emergency communications, CPF water quality projects and the town police department’s 2021 annual report at its 11 a.m. work session this morning. • The Riverhead Town Board will hold public hearings on numerous proposed code changes at its 2 p.m. meeting this afternoon. Here’s the info on the hearings, and the meeting can be viewed live here.

• The Greenport American Legion Roller Rink at 102 Third Street in Greenport holds a New York Blood Center blood drive this afternoon and evening from 1 to 7 p.m. Appointments are recommended, and can be made online here.

Suffolk County reported 393 new cases of Covid-19 on Sunday, May 1, with 7.5 percent of people tested testing positive. There were 127 people hospitalized with the virus, with 12 of them in ICU. The county reported no new fatalities from the virus, and the death toll here stands at 4,385 people since March of 2020.
