• Today will be sunny, with a high near 83 degrees and a calm wind, becoming west around 6 miles per hour in the afternoon. Tonight will be mostly clear, with a low around 61. We’re expecting patchy fog early Tuesday, but otherwise it will be sunny, with a high near 85. Wednesday will be mostly sunny, with a high near 85 degrees.

• Science writer and photographer Erica Cirino is continuing her “Go and See Tour” talking about her recent trip to find plastics in the Pacific Ocean tomorrow, Aug. 1 at the Quogue Library at 6 p.m., and next Wednesday, Aug. 9 at 6:30 p.,m. at the Cutchogue-New Suffolk Free Library. • Free summer concert series continue on the East End this week. Tonight, The 3 B’s perform on the Montauk Green at 6:30 p.m. and Abrazos Orchestra performs at Greenport’s Mitchell Park at 7:30 p.m.
• Canio’s Books in Sag Harbor is celebrating Herman Melville’s birthday tomorrow with a talk with science writer Carl Safina at 5:30 p.m. The winners of the bookstore’s Moby-Dick Marathon silent auction will also be announced at the event. More details are online here.
