The North Fork Community Theatre will present the hit musical “Cabaret,” which takes us back to Berlin in 1930 as two couples attempt to find happiness while the looming threat of the Third Reich swirls around them, opening tonight and continuing through June 4.

The cabaret, where music and gaiety can block out a world teetering on the brink of madness, is presided over by the menacing Emcee, whose promise that “life is a cabaret” may come with dangerous strings attached.

This production is directed by Manning Dandridge, with music direction by George Moravek. Justin Harris stars as the Emcee and Brianna Kinnier stars as Sally Bowles.

Jennifer Eager and Liz Liszanckie produce, and Chelsea Chizever is the choreographer of this production.

Performances are Thursdays through Sundays, May 18 to June 4, with show times at 8 p.m. Thursday through Saturday and Sunday matinees are at 2:30 p.m.

Admission is $25. Tickets are available online here or by calling 631.2986328.

This production also stars Nick Motlenski as Cliff Bradshaw, Linda Aydinian as Fraulein Schneider, Michael P. Horn as Herr Schultz, Colin Palmer as Ernst Ludwig, Jennifer Eager as Fraulein Kost  and John Hudson as Max.

Joseph Podlas, Tom DelPrete and Matt Eager will also perform.

Kit Kat dancers in this production are Chelsea Chizever, Tamara Flanell, David Lopez, Katrina Lovett, Julia Pulick, Lisa Rasmussen, Haley Unger and Ryan Zlatnisk.

There will be an opening night reception tonight, May 18 at 7 p.m.
