Greenport Budget Vote

Greenport is putting a 16.4 million budget up before voters on May 20, up $887,500 from last year. The tax levy will increase by 2.6 percent, which is within the tax cap with Greenport’s exclusions applied.

If approved, taxpayers will pay $78.57 per $100 of assessed valuation, a 2.6 percent increase over last year.

The budget includes funding for the district’s first-ever pre-K program.

Voting will be held from 2 to 8 p.m. in the “Dude” Manwaring Gymnasium. The district’s budget newsletter is online here.
