The Speonk/Remsenburg School District will be asking voters to approve a $13 million budget on May 20, up 1.6 percent from this year. If approved, the tax levy would increase 1.9 percent and the tax rate would increase from $5.48 per $1,000 of assessed valuation to $5.60 per $1,000 of assessed valuation.
Board member Dierdre DeVita is also seeking re-election.
Voting will take place from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the Remsenburg-Speonk Elementary School. The district’s budget statement is available online here.
