The Westhampton Beach School District is proposing a $54.7 million 2014-15 budget, up 2.24 percent from last year. The tax levy will decrease by .3 percent.
If the budget is approved by voters, the tax rate will decrease from $6.23 per $1,000 of assessed valuation to $6.21 per $1,000.
Board member Jim Hulme is seeking to keep his seat, and retiring history teacher Stephen Wisnoski is seeking to unseat him.
Voters will go to the polls from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. in the high school large group instruction room. The district’s budget newsletter is available online here.
