Shelter Island Budget Vote

The Shelter Island School District is putting a $10.5 million budget up before the voters on May 20, up 4.23 percent from last year. The tax levy is project to increase by 1.7 percent.

School board members Linda Eklund, Elizabeth Melichar and Alfred Brigham are running to keep their seats on the board.

Voting will take place in the school gymnasium from noon to 9 p.m.
