Photos: Northeast Stage Brings Shakespeare’s “Measure for Measure” to the Parks

Northeast Stage is bringing its Summer 2019 Shakespeare-in-the-Park production of “Measure for Measure,” a dark comedy from the First Folio that examines the complex interplay of mercy and justice, directed by Colin Palmer, to three venues over the next two weeks.

Performances will be held on Saturday, July 27 at 7 p.m. at East End Arts in Riverhead, Tuesday, July 30 at 7 p.m. at the Shorefront Park Bandshell in Patchogue and Friday through Sunday, Aug. 2 through 4, at 7 p.m. at Greenport’s Mitchell Park.

This production stars John Bradley as Duke Vincentio, Justin Harris as Lucio, Amy E. Ippolito as Isabella, Christian Lepore as Barnadine, Kayla Lessard as Mariana, Peter Peterson as Pompey, Wendy Peterson as Claudio/Froth, Christine Richard as Mistress Overdone, Colin Palmer as Provost, Sarah Storjohann/A.D. Newcomer as Escalus and John Tramontana as Angelo.

A.D. Newcomer is the master of verse, Jason Gibson is the stage manager, Daniel Anthony Maul is the production designer and James Yaiullo provides original music.

Admission is free — bring a blanket and a picnic. An American Sign Language interpreter will be on hand to provide translation for the deaf and hard of hearing.
