• East Hampton Town facilities are also closed today and tonight’s East Hampton Town Board meeting has been cancelled.

• All Southold Town facilities are closed today. Southold will open two emergency shelters, at the Peconic Lane Community Center at 1170 Peconic Lane and, for adults with special non-medical needs, at the Human Resource Center at 750 Pacific Avenue in Mattituck, at 9 a.m. today.

• Shelter Island Town facilities are expecting to have a delayed opening at noon. We will update this post if that changes.

• Riverhead Town is collecting garbage one hour early today and is urging residents to keep their vehicles off the streets so that snow plows can clear the roads. All town facilities are closed today. Town Supervisor Laura Jens-Smith is urging anyone who sees someone without shelter who needs help to call the town police non-emergency number at 631.727.4500.

• Don’t forget to clear the snow away from fire hydrants near your house and look out for your neighbors during and after this storm. We will have updates online throughout the day. In the meantime, stay safe!

And that’s the way things look at dawn’s light here today.
