• Today will be cloudy, with a steady temperature around 61 degrees and showers likely, mainly between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. The wind will be out of the southeast at 9 to 14 miles per hour. We’re expecting showers and thunderstorms overnight, with a low around 56. Wednesday will be partly sunny, with a high near 68. Thursday will be mostly cloudy, with a high near 72 and a 20 percent chance of showers.

• Students and their adult allies gathered at Southampton Town Hall on Friday afternoon to share their hope for reversing climate change, with the help of the guidelines from a book called “Drawdown.” The Beacon’s full story is online here.

• This evening is the opening of previews for the world premiere of “The Prompter,” a new play about a legendary diva who forgets her lines and the non-famous, sometimes actor paid to remember them, at Bay Street Theatre in Sag Harbor. More details are online here.
